EL-P to perform show at New York clothing storeEl-P is set to play a special show at the Sixth Avenue branch of Urban Outfitters in New York this month.
The Brooklyn-based rapper / producer will perform the set to
benefit non-commercial radio station, WNHU 88.7 as part of the
Free Yr Radio series an independent music campaign developed by Toyota and Urban Outfitters to support the independent music scene and strengthen the non-commercial radio stations.
Other performers to take part in the Free Yr Radio tour include
Tapes 'N Tapes, The Rapture, Klaxons, and Dinosaur Jr..
Invitations to the show can be accessed and printed at www.freeyrradio.com. Number of fans admitted will be subject to store's capacity.
El-P will pearform on July 14. Wintersleep Never Rest With New Tour
Hibernation is officially over, and Canadian rockers Wintersleep will be busy as bears this spring with new videos and a month-long American tour, all while chipping away at their third record with famed producer Tony Doogan, who is best known for his work with Belle And Sebastian.
"Tony is really helpful in all the places you want a producer to be helpful," says Paul Murphy, lead singer of the band who checks in from the studio. "He understands us. We've been playing these particular songs for a while live now and it is nice to actually work them out in a studio setting."
In support of their upcoming US releases, the quartet will join tourmates and fellow Canadians Tragically Hip for an eight-date US run starting May 10 in Indianapolis. "They are a really amazing group of people and such a great band to play shows with," Murphy adds. "I have a sick crush."
Wintersleep's first two albums, (2005's Juno-winning Unititled and 2003's self-titled disc) were released in March by Labwork here in the states. In between touring and working on their as-of-yet untitled record slated for release later this year, Wintersleep plan to continue to make videos for every one of their songs, which you can check out on their website.
